Arsenal have ruled out any possibility of selling midfielder, Martin Zubimendi on transfer deadline day.

As reported by The Sun, Chelsea manager, Xabi Alonso is a keen admirer of Zubimendi and wanted the Blues to sign him after Enzo Fernandez left Stamford Bridge for Manchester City.

However, Arsenal have decided to reject an enquiry from Alonso’s side over a deal for the Spain international.

Zubimendi joined Arsenal from Real Sociedad, but he has fallen down the pecking order under manager, Mikel Arteta at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, in another development, Manchester United explored a move for Manchester City defender, Rayan Ait-Nouri on transfer deadline day.

According to Sky Sports, Man United were offered the opportunity to sign Ait-Nouri and were made aware that he was potentially available before Tuesday night’s transfer deadline.

However, when the Red Devils explored a move with the Cityzens on Tuesday afternoon, it became clear that a deal to bring the full-back to Old Trafford could not go ahead unless an obligation to buy was attached to a season-long loan.
