Governor Alex Otti says some individuals who diverted the money earmarked for the Abia Airport project during the previous administration in the state are still being grilled by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC to have the funds recovered.

Otti who was speaking to Journalists on Friday during his monthly media chat, said his administration wrote a petition to the EFCC to help recover the funds.

He described the previous Airport project as “Audio” infrastructure and vowed that his administration would do everything to recover the State funds, valued at N10 billion from the suspected individuals.

“I am sure that you are aware that the government wrote a petition to the EFCC and the EFCC has been inviting those people who somehow, the money got into their accounts

“So we are still on it and am sure that at the appropriate time, we we will get our money back, Otti said.

On the sealing of Globacom, GLO, offices in Abia State for about three weeks for alleged unpaid tax, Governor Otti said the closure was in respect to a court order, insisting that the court order must be respected.

He debunked speculations that he was planning to write off the tax debt of Globacom to protect investors, saying that such speculations were not backed by facts.
