Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has been thrown into mourning following the death of his mother, Hajiyaa Umma, who passed away on Friday.
The family confirmed her death in a statement issued the same day, noting that she had been battling age-related health complications that worsened in recent times.
According to the family, her condition further declined after she received news of her son’s detention by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission.
They added that El-Rufai had been actively overseeing his mother’s care before her passing and prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.
