Galatasaray vice-president, Ibrahim Hatipoglu, has praised the transformative impact of striker Victor Osimhen, crediting the Nigerian international for a significant surge in the club’s international popularity and brand value.

According to Hatipoglu, Galatasaray is now a household name in Africa and the Middle East as a result of the Osimhen effect.

Galatasaray signed Osimhen on a permanent transfer from Napoli in a historic €75 million deal last summer.

Speaking to reporters ahead of Galatasaray’s Turkish Super Lig tie with Trabzonspor on Saturday evening at Papara Park, Hatipoglu said, “Victor Osimhen has boosted our popularity tremendously.

“We are seeing unprecedented interest from across the globe, particularly from Africa and the Middle East. It isn’t just about football; it’s about the brand.

“Galatasaray is now a household name in regions where we previously had limited reach.”
