Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski, on Saturday equalled the club’s former forward Hristo Stoichkov’s record after scoring a goal in the Blaugrana 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid.

Recall that a goal each from Lewandowski and Marcus Rashford gave Barcelona the victory against the hosts in the LaLiga.

Lewandowski’s goal against Diego Simeone’s men took him to the 14th top scorer in Barcelona history, with 117 goals.

According to Barca Universal, the Polish international has now matched Stoichkov’s 117 goals for the Catalan club during his time at the club.

Stoichkov did it in 255 matches, while Lewandowski did it in 185 matches.

Meanwhile, speaking about Lewandowski after the game, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick said he was happy with the former Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich attacker.

“We have eight matches to play this season, and I can say that I am really happy with Lewandowski and all of my players.”
