Chelsea have secured a deal to sign defender Valentin Barco.

Barco has said yes to the Chelsea move, and personal terms between both parties have been agreed ahead of a potential summer transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 21-year-old joined BlueCo-owned Strasbourg on a permanent deal for a fee of £8.7 million last summer following an initial loan move from Premier League side Brighton.

Barco is regarded as one of the brightest young Argentinian talents at the moment.

He has quickly settled into life in France, making 37 appearances and providing two goals for Strasbourg.

Barco struggled to make a significant impact during his time at Brighton after arriving at the Amex Stadium in 2024.

He only made seven Premier League appearances for the Seagulls.
