The Edo State Security Corps, ESSC, has rescued a 37-year-old truck driver and his 25-year-old motor boy from kidnappers in the state.

DAILY POST reports that the Deputy Commander, Operations of the Corps, Richard Balogun, disclosed this to newsmen yesterday in Benin City.

Balogun identified the driver and his motor boy as Sani Muhammed and Nazifi Rabiu, from Jigawa State.

He said the victims were kidnapped at about 11pm on March 30, 2026, along the Benin–Okene road near an army checkpoint in Auchi in Etsako West Local Government Area.

He added that the victims were rescued on April 5, 2026, at about 6pm in the Alimogiza Forest in Anwain area of the Etsako West Local Government area by operatives of the Corps.

Balogun explained that the victims had disclosed that the kidnappers have already opened negotiations with their families, demanding a ransom of N60 million before they were rescued.

He also alleged that the suspected kidnappers said to be about 10 in number had killed one of their victims.

He, however, added that about seven other victims are still being held captive by the abductors.
