Ifeanyi Okowa, the immediate past Governor of Delta State, has scored 4,462 votes to defeat serving Senator, Ned Nwoko, who got only three votes in the ongoing All Progressives Congress, APC senatorial primary in Ward 9, Okpanam, Delta North.

Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, who posted the result on his Facebook page, said the exercise was successful.

According to him, the Ward result indicates a clear victory for Okowa and a “strong statement from the party faithful”.

DAILY POST reports that the ruling party is currently conducting its senatorial primary election across the country.

There are indications that some serving Senators seeking re-election may not return to the upper legislative chamber.
