Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has reiterated his team’s desire to secure a place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Madugu further said it is important for the Super Falcons to retain their crown at the ongoing 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria will face eternal rivals Cameroon in a potentially explosive quarter-final duel in Casablanca on Sunday.
The winner will be guaranteed a place at the Women’s World Cup and a place in the last four.
Having watched his team recover from the shocking defeat to the Scorchers of Malawi in their opening fixture, Madugu said their mission before the start of the competition remains unchanged.
“Our objective remains picking the World Cup ticket and then going ahead to retain the trophy. Nothing has changed,” Madugu told a press conference in Casablanca on Saturday.
Sunday’s encounter will hold at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca. It will kick off at 6pm Nigeria time.
