ASUU declares indefinite strike in Abia State University

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Abia State University, Uturu branch , has declared an indefinite strike in the institution.

The strike, which was declared through a notice issued to members of the academic union in the ABSU branch on Tuesday, was to press for the implementation of the 2025 agreement between ASUU and the federal government, among other demands.

In the notice signed by the Chairperson and Secretary of ASUU, Chidi Mba and Victor Obisike, the academic union directed all staff to completely withdraw their services and comply with the directives of the union.

The branch leadership also directed members to suspend participation in all statutory meetings, including Senate meetings, Faculty Boards, and other official meetings of the university.

The ASUU leaders called for unity and collective action among their members in pursuing their demands, and promised to communicate any further developments.
