The Federal Government of Nigeria has secured agreements for ambassador-designates from ten countries as part of its ongoing diplomatic engagements.

The countries include the United Kingdom, Senegal, Qatar, Ireland, France, United States of America, Benin Republic, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia and Djibouti.

This was disclosed in a statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimibie Ebienfa, who noted that responses from other countries are still being awaited.

He added that the date for the induction ceremony of the ambassador-designates would be announced once finalised and confirmed by the Presidency.

The development comes amid reports that Femi Fani-Kayode was rejected by Germany as a potential envoy. However, Fani-Kayode has dismissed the claims, describing them as “fake news.”
