WAFU B Women’s Champions League: Edo Queens provide update on Boboye’s appointment

Edo Queens said that the decision to select Kennedy Boboye to lead the team for the WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers was a well-thought-out plan.

DAILY POST reports that Boboye, who is the technical adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, side Bendel Insurance, is standing in for the club’s substantive head coach, Moses Adukwu, who is away on international duty.

Edo Queens revealed that Boboye and the rest of the team’s technical crew prepared the players for the tournament.

“It wasn’t a one-off decision. It was a mix of preparation, as the girls were camped for three weeks and coach Boboye was with them all through,” Nosakhare Igunma told News Central TV.

“We already knew that coach Adukwu wouldn’t be joining the team for the tournament, so we had to draft in Boboye to take over the team.

“Boboye solidified the tactical knowledge the Adukwu technical crew had built, which was reflected in the result that we witnessed in the opening fixture.”

Edo Queens thrashed AS Garde NN 7-0 in their opening game at the Stade 4 Août Stadium in Ouagadougou on Monday night.
